RoboticsWith the addition of a new robotics training center, Limestone County has become a key component in Alabama’s robotics industry. The county’s close proximity to defense and research companies in North Alabama makes the county a natural choice for this emerging industry.
Robotics Technology Park
In 2008, Calhoun Community College was selected to be the location of Alabama’s Robotics Technology Park. Plans for the $40-million center include three buildings dedicated to workforce training and research and development.
The first phase of the robotics park will be the Robotics Maintenance Training Center. The center will employ trainers from some of the top robot suppliers in the world and will be used by major robotics and automation companies for training and product demonstration.
The second and third phases of the park will be used for research and development, as well as testing. One building will be used by NASA and the U.S. Army Missile Command. The third building will be open to new robotics companies, as a testing and training facility.
Visit the Calhoun Community College website for more information about the Robotics Technology Park.
