Limestone County, Alabama is centrally located between many of the Southeast’s major automotive manufacturers. The county features a certified automotive megasite, as well as available land and buildings suitable for automotive manufacturing use. Limestone County has been considered by the most recent OEM projects.
Athens and Limestone County have workers trained and experienced in automotive manufacturing, with additional training available through local and statewide workforce development programs. The workforce development programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of automotive manufacturers and suppliers, and many of them are offered at no cost to the employer. Most of the industrial parks, sites and buildings are located in close proximity to Interstate-65, Interstate-565, and other major shipping routes.
