AIR: Huntsville International has eight airlines that serve the area with more than 100 flights daily. Huntsville International Airport is just a few minutes drive, offering commercial flights to anywhere in the world!

Pryor Field, a former World War II pilot training facility, has a 6,100 foot lighted run way and serves both private and corporate aircraft and is located in southern Limestone County.

HIGHWAYS: Interstate 65 gives easy access for anyone entering or leaving Limestone County. Just to the south I-65 connects to I-565, giving access to Huntsville. U.S. 31 and 72 serve the area by connecting the area with Chattanooga, and Memphis, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia.

BUS: The area is served by three motor freight terminals and bus service from Greyhound.

TRUCK: The area is served by 30 truck transit lines, with 3 being located in Limestone County

RAIL: Two major railroads, CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railway serve Athens, offering conventional transportation as well as piggyback service.

WATER: The Tennessee River gives Athens-Limestone County access to barge and river shipping. The nearest port facility is 13 miles from Athens. This great river has links to the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway with networks that include the Ohio, upper Mississippi River and Tennessee River System. The Tenn-Tom saves about 750 miles on the trip to the Gulf of Mexico at Mobile.
